In order to determine whether Indian nationals are eligible for positions as “Assistant Professor” or “Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor” in Indian universities and colleges, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has given the National Testing Agency (NTA) the responsibility of administering the UGC-NET exam.
