The MD MS admission in Bangladesh is made for students who desire to pursue medical practise while also improving their research abilities in a related field. A student who has successfully completed the MBBS course may apply for one of the following two post-graduate (specialty) programmes:

A postgraduate medical degree known as a doctor of medicine (MD) and a postgraduate degree in surgery known as a Master of Surgery (MD). And after successfully completing the BDS course, a student may apply for one of the following two Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programmes:

After receiving a postgraduate degree, a student can apply for any of the following super-specialty courses and earn a DM (medical) or MCh (surgical) degree.

The first and only medical university in Bangladesh is Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), which provides MD MS admission in Bangladesh. Only postgraduate degrees, including the MD, PhD, MS, MPhil, MDS, Diploma, and FCPS courses, are offered. In 2014, it was also announced that Rajshahi Medical College and Chittagong Medical College would become medical universities. The numerous specialisation programmes of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, began in March. Phases A and B of the course (MD MS admission and MDS) last for two and three years, respectively.

For the academic year beginning on March, 2024, applications are being accepted in the prescribed format for admission into the MD/MS Phase-A Residency Program’s many disciplines at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and its affiliated medical colleges, dental colleges, and institutes.

Study MD MS in Bangladesh: Guidelines for Students

Candidates who want to apply for MD MS admission in Bangladesh and various MD/MS Phase-A, Residency Programme disciplines can view the list of subjects and eligibility requirements on the BSMMU website at www.bsmmu.edu.bd.

Application Fees, Payment Method and Bank Details: 

Entrance exams fees Taka 6000/= (non-refundable) from any online branch of Pubali Bank Ltd. all over country in favour of “ADMISSION AND MISC. FUND” SND-A/C NO- 0947102001731. The candidates’ names must be entered on the bank deposit form at the time of this payment.

Application submission (online): 

After payment of the application fee, candidates must complete the online application form found at www.bsmmu.edu.bd by the time specified.

The candidate must submit a scanned copy of her or his “colour photograph” (image size: 500×500 px, not older than three months, and background must be of one colour, preferably white where face should be very clearly seen), “Bank payment receipt” (image size: 500×500 px), and “signature” (image size: 300×200 px) in the form of an upload in the.jpg format.

Later, the BSMMU website, www.bsmmu.edu.bd, will announce the location of the entrance exam.

Residency Exam for MD MS Admission in Bangladesh

Every year, residency exams are typically held on the second Friday in November on the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) campus. One year after completing the internship, you can sit for the exam. BSMMU is in authority of establishing the rules for both the examination and the full programme. Numerous institutions and medical colleges are currently offering a variety of courses under BSMMUp. There are approximately 1,000 seats available for all of the courses combined. Four faculties in total are examined. Surgery, Paediatrics, Basic, and Paraclinical Medicine. The Faculty of Surgery is responsible for gynaecology. On the BSMMU website, you can find information about some faculties’ courses, the number of available seats, and specific locations. Exam fees are now 4000 Taka instead of the previous 5000 Taka.

Three hours will be allotted for the exam. 200 true-false questions make up the entire test. For each question, place one. A stem can be corrected by trimming it by 0.05 (very insignificant). Accordingly, they must fill the circle once more after 1000 stams fall in 180 minutes. There are no grade distribution policies at BSMMU. But a concept is developed by scrutinising the questions from previous years.

Distribution of BSMMU Residency & Diploma Marks

The BSMMU does not provide a syllabus for the residency or diploma exams. It is possible to mark distribution. However, the preparation and syllabus for the diploma and BSMMU are nearly identical.

Residency Marks Distribution at BSMMU

The range I’ve provided above is uncertain. On occasion, there might be more or less approximately 2–3 questions.

Let’s check out the curriculum now that we’ve had a chance to experience residency. The class will begin in March. Phases 1 and 2 of residency are separated.

MD MS Admission in Bangladesh Residency Phase A and Phase B.

Phase-A includes a three-month rotation around the various departments of your faculty, after which the block will be finished and the subsequent block will begin. For instance, if you receive a chance in neurology, you will be banned every three months from receiving a chance in cardiology, nephrology, haematology, etc. You will then give the last phase in January, 22 months later, once all the blocks have been removed.

If successful, Phase-B will reopen in March of that year. If not, retake it in July after a period of six months. You may take the final exam up to five times in one phase. Everybody is aware of what will happen if they don’t succeed even five times. You shall train your reputable subject for three years anywhere you have the opportunity during Phase-B. Phase-B finals will follow that.

You will receive a stipend of 20,000 Taka per month for the duration of the course.
